It was a hot and muggy day, but any treasure hunt comes with a few challenges. We braved the heat and headed out to the Owasso Berry Farm. As always there were precious jewels waiting to be picked. After an hour we had a sled of blueberries (that means I bought too many for the little cartons lol) and three cartons of blackberries. With goods procured, we cranked up the a/c in the car and downed several ounces of water. Properly refreshed, we headed home to turn our labor into a delicious treat.
My husband's favorite dessert will always be cheesecake. If you ask him what he wants for his birthday, for a holiday, or for any family gathering - he will always pick cheesecake. So, being Father's Day weekend, it seemed only fair to make let him choose.
With fresh-picked blackberries, some sunny yellow lemons, and plenty of cream cheese, I made a new Summer favorite - Blackberry Lemon Cheesecake Bars with a Shortbread Cookie Crust.
